Located in Chilliwack’s District 1881 village — Studio Risa is a private store-front based tattoo studio, emulating a west coast inspired vibe. We provide an experience for our clients and artists that is relaxing, comfortable, professional, and highly sought after. Our standards for cleanliness in our space and our work is something we take great pride in.

 FAQ’s

  • We currently operate by appointment only, so we do not have set hours for the public. However, we are generally in the studio 11:00am - 6:00pm most weekdays. For any appointment requests, please send us an email.

  • We currently operate by appointment only. However, if the studio is open, you are welcome to come in and say hi / inquire. On occasion, next day or same week appointments may be available.

  • Large scale and portrait projects are priced at a set day rate per session. However, when an hourly rate structure may apply, Stephanie Risa charges $220 +GST per hour.

    Our studio minimum, which covers any tattoo that is 1 hour or less, is $200 +GST.

  • We accept cash or e-transfer. All prices are +GST, including cash payments.

  • Deposit amounts range from $80 - $400 +GST depending on the project.

    DEPOSIT POLICY: 

    A deposit is required to be paid via e-transfer at the time of booking to secure all appointments. Your deposit amount will be deducted from the cost of your final appointment. Please advise your artist of any changes or cancellations to your appointment no less than 48 hours to your appointment date to avoid any cancellation fees.

    Late cancellations or no shows will result in the forfeit of your deposit. A new deposit will be required in order to rebook.

    All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

  • You are absolutely welcome to request a consultation, however this will be up to the artist to decide whether or not one is necessary.

    For new clients, a $20 +GST fee is required to be paid via e-transfer at the time of booking a consultation. This can be used towards a deposit if an appointment is booked during the consultation. If no appointment is booked during the consultation, this will be kept as a consultation fee.


  • Appointments are available for booking Monday - Friday. However, we do offer availability on most stat holidays, excluding major ones such as Christmas, New Years, etc. 

  • We generally book anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks out. On occasion, same week appointments may be available.

    We suggest sending your inquiry as far in advance to your desired date as possible!

  • Please allow up to 7 business days for a response. If you have not received a response during this time, feel free to send a follow up!

  • At this time we do not allow our clients to use numbing creams prior to coming in for their appointment.

    We do offer numbing in studio, based on the artists discretion, for an additional cost.

    If you arrive to your appointment with numbing cream already applied, without the prior approval of your artist, you run the risk of the cancellation of your appointment and forfeit of your deposit.

    Please contact your artist prior to your appointment to ask about numbing services.

  • You will be given verbal and / or written instructions on how to care for your tattoo at the end of your appointment. Please follow all instructions carefully. Failure to follow aftercare instructions may lead to infection and / or your tattoo not healing properly. If your tattoo has healed poorly due to your own neglect, any touch ups you may need will be completed at regular cost.

    If you suspect your tattoo may not be healing right, send us an email + photo of your tattoo. Most issues are easily treatable. We are always here to help!

  • The first two weeks are the main and most important part of the healing process. This is when following aftercare instructions is most crucial.

    Most tattoos are considered fully healed and settled at around the 4 - 6 week mark.

  • Touch ups are free of charge within the first 6 months from your original appointment date. If you inquire for a touch up beyond this time, a fee will apply.

    If your tattoo requires a touch up due to your own neglect, at any time, touch ups will be done at regular cost.

    Finger tattoos are exempt from free touch ups due to the nature of the area. These touch ups will be charged a base rate for cost of materials.

    Please send a photo of your tattoo pointing out the areas you suspect may need a touch up when inquiring for this service!

  • This is completely up to you and how you feel about your tattoo, and your experience! However, it is not mandatory or expected. Tips of any kind (monetary or gifts) are always greatly appreciated. 

  • No. Unfortunately we will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, with or without parental consent. 

  • Stephanie Risa specializes in Black and Grey Realism - specifically in portraits and florals. However, she does take on styles of all kinds, so long as it’s something she feels she can do well. 

    Our Guests Artists consist of those who specialize in an array of different styles. 

  • We do not. We are strictly a tattoo studio only, however, we are happy to offer recommendations for piercers for you!
